It is with a heavy heart that the JBB says good-bye to a solid strong member of our family and our group. Johnny Holston, Sr passed away Sunday, March 27 doing exactly what he loved to do.....playing music on his banjo. We miss you, Johnny, but we know you will always be in our hearts when we play...and we will continue to play in your honor!
HOLSTON SR Johnny David Holston, Sr. age 51 of Moss Point, MS passed away doing what he loved, playing Bluegrass music on his banjo. Johnny was an Air Force veteran and worked for Northrup Grumman as a Design Engineer. He was in 3 bands, The Jason Boone Band, Highway 63 and the Dog River Boys. He will be remembered for his love of Bluegrass music and as a loving husband, father and grandpaw. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lloyd and Ouida Joyce Holston, Sr. He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Betty (Pope) Holston, children, Holly Holston (Johnathan) Smith, Johnny David (Christina) Holston, Jr. and Jennifer Holston (Timothy) Smith, 4 grandchildren, Bethany Smith, Brittney Smith, Parker Smith and Asher Holston, 2 brothers, Harry Lloyd Holston, Jr. Stephen Scott Holston, a sister, Amy Joyce (Holston) Patton along with numer-ous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday March 31, 2011, 11:00am-1:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:00pm in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home, with the Revs. Freddie Carter and Archie Holley officiating.
